Since October 5, 2026, Professor Kai-Tung Ma of National Taiwan University has been on a working visit to the Hydro- and Aerodynamics Centre as part of the project “Design of Floating Wind Turbines,” implemented under the bilateral cooperation agreement between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council.
During the visit, working meetings and technical discussions were held, focusing on the experimental validation of floating wind turbines and their mooring systems. The validation involves model tests under environmental conditions representative of the Taiwan Strait and the northern Black Sea coast. The results obtained and the next stages of the project were also discussed.
The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen scientific cooperation between the Bulgarian and Taiwanese research teams and to explore future joint research activities in the field of floating offshore wind energy systems.
