CFD Applications

Hull-form hydrodynamic performance evaluation and optimization can be performed during the initial design stages, or before model testing, as required in the scope of work.

BSHC uses several software packages:

  • v – SHALLO ©, a product of HSVA, Germany, a non-linear free-surface potential code used in combination with an in-house application for smooth hull-form modification
  • STAR CCM+©, a product of ADAPCO, a full-featured CFD code with wide a range of application
  • OpenFOAM, a product of OpenCFD Ltd, an open-source CFD software
  • DualSPHysics, which is based on the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics model named SPHysics (www.sphysics.org)
